Abstract Acceptance
will be communicated on registered e-mail and WhatsApp by 11.59 PM IST 10/06/2026
- Pre-registration for conference is mandatory for abstract submission
- Keep an eye on the conference website for poster presentation updates. Information regarding the preliminary round of online poster presentation will be announced by 15/05/2026 on our website kapcon2026.com
- The abstracts should be uploaded online on our website, and will not be accepted on emails or through any other mode.
- Membership requirements for eligibility to Paper/poster presentation at KAPCON 2026:
- IAPM / KCIAPM membership is necessary to submit abstract for oral paper/poster.
- Delegates from outside Karnataka have an option of taking a temporary one time “session” membership of KCIAPM.
- Session membership can be availed only by PGs and pathologists working or studying outside of Karnataka irrespective of their state of origin, which will be valid only for one KAPCON event and a charge of Rs. 500 will be levied by KCIAPM for the session membership to be eligible to present scientific paper/poster at the KAPCON 2026. - Caveat 1: Pathologists and PGs in pathology, pursuing postgraduation or practicing in Karnataka, irrespective of their state of origin have to become KCIAPM life members to be eligible for scientific presentations, both oral paper and poster at KAPCON 2026.
- Caveat 2: Further, Life time members of IAPM (both PGs and pathologists working or studying outside of Karnataka irrespective of their state of origin) are eligible to present scientific paper/poster at KAPCON 2026 without the need for KCIAPM membership. However, this does not apply to PGs and pathologists studying or practicing in Karnataka, irrespective of their state of origin, who will mandatorily need a KCIAPM membership.
Guidelines for Submission of Abstracts for both oral paper & poster
- You are invited to submit informative abstracts of up to 250 words for oral paper OR poster.
- All abstracts must be submitted in PDF or MS Word format, in Times New Roman style with a font size of 12.
- All abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee and acceptance is not guaranteed.
- The committee will prioritize abstracts with strong, scientific findings for an oral paper. Hence, ensure the abstract demonstrates clear and meaningful results with well-supported conclusions that have clinical or research significance.
- The scientific committee has the discretion to convert an oral paper abstract to a poster presentation based on its merit. The decision of scientific committee is final and binding. Abstracts must be structured and submitted according to guidelines given below.
Oral paper
- Title: The title should be concise, clear, and informative. Avoid using abbreviations or jargon unless they are widely recognized.
- Authors: Include all authors contributing to the paper. Ensure the correct order of authorship and provide institutional affiliations.
- Presenting Author: Please specify the full name of the presenting author.
- Introduction: A brief background to set the context for the study. Outline the problem or research question and the rationale for the study.
- Objective(s): Clearly state the aims of the study.
- Methods: Provide a brief description of the methods used, including sample size, study design, and analytical techniques.
- Results: Summarize the key findings, including any statistical data, if applicable. Present findings clearly and concisely.
- Conclusion: Offer a brief interpretation of the results and discuss their significance. Mention any future directions or implications for clinical practice or research.
Poster
- Title: The title should be concise, clear, and informative. Avoid using abbreviations or jargon unless they are widely recognized.
- Authors: Include all authors contributing to the paper. Ensure the correct order of authorship and provide institutional affiliations.
- Presenting Author: Please specify the full name of the presenting author.
- Introduction: Briefly introduce the pathology relevant to the presentation.
- Details/Results: Provide relevant details, make sure the description is clear, concise, and focused on important details.
- Discussion: Highlight key learning points/ clinical significance.
- Conclusion: Mention the significance/ implication.
Conflict of Interest Statement
If the research described in the abstract was supported by a commercial company, you must indicate the company’s role in
analysing the data or preparing the abstract.
Important Note :
Each registered delegate is eligible to present either a paper/poster. Submission of the abstract carries with it an obligation to present the
accepted abstract in person without any change in scientific content during the allotted time in the conference.
Withdrawal of presentation is not allowed after abstract submission.
If the presenting author is not able to present the paper at the conference due to any reason, prior permission must be obtained from
the Scientific Committee regarding the change in the presenting author.
The scientific committee has the discretion to accept a paper/ poster and to convert an oral paper to a poster. The decision of the scientific committee will be final.
Acceptance of the oral paper and poster presentation will be communicated by 10/06/2026.
